There is no universal package that is right for every dog. Full groom

A full groom can combine bathing, drying, brushing, coat preparation, trimming or styling, nail care, and ear care where appropriate. The exact process depends on the dog. A dense double coat needs a different approach from a continuously growing curly coat, and a practical short trim requires different work from a longer styled finish.

The coat is assessed before work begins. Matting, compacted undercoat, skin sensitivity, previous clip history, and the dog’s tolerance of handling can affect what is safe and realistic. Aneta will discuss alternatives if the requested style cannot be achieved comfortably with the coat in its current condition.

Bath and brush

A bath-and-brush appointment focuses on cleansing, drying, and removing loose coat without a full haircut. It may suit dogs whose coat does not require clipping, dogs between fuller appointments, or owners who need help after muddy weather and seasonal shedding.

Dog-specific products are selected for grooming use. Tell Aneta in advance about known allergies, prescribed shampoos, diagnosed skin conditions, or recent veterinary treatment. A grooming appointment does not diagnose or treat medical problems; soreness, broken skin, infection, sudden hair loss, or persistent itching should be discussed with a vet.

Deshedding

Deshedding helps remove loose undercoat from dogs that naturally shed. The work required changes with coat density, season, home brushing, and how comfortable the dog is with drying and brushing. It is not a promise that shedding will stop completely: shedding is a normal process, and the goal is to manage loose coat without damaging healthy hair or irritating the skin.

For best results, describe your dog’s coat and recent shedding when booking. After the appointment, ask which brush or comb is suitable and how to maintain the coat between visits. Short, regular home-care sessions are often easier for a dog than occasional attempts to remove a large amount of compacted coat.

Nail and ear care

Ear cleaning during grooming is limited to routine external care. Grooming should never be used to delay an examination when a dog appears unwell or uncomfortable.

Puppy introduction

A puppy introduction is designed to make the salon, handling, sounds, and equipment more familiar. The priority is a manageable experience, not forcing a perfect full groom at the first visit. Depending on age, coat, confidence, and the puppy’s response, an introduction may include gentle handling, brushing, a small amount of practical grooming, and discussion of a realistic home-care routine.

Before the appointment, practise very short, positive handling sessions at home. Grooming for nervous dogs

If your dog is anxious, share the details before a date is agreed. Explain what you have observed around brushes, clippers, dryers, bathing, paw handling, unfamiliar people, other dogs, or car travel. Mention any previous difficult salon or veterinary experiences. Clear information helps Aneta plan the visit and decide whether the requested work is appropriate in one appointment.

Do not punish fearful behaviour or conceal a bite history. Anxiety can have many causes, including pain, so a sudden change in behaviour should be discussed with a vet. What affects the individual quote?

Dog Paradise does not publish a fixed price list because the time and work required cannot be judged reliably from a service name alone. The individual quote can be affected by:

• the dog’s size and coat type;
• coat length, density, shedding, knots, or matting;
• the requested finish and the work needed to achieve it safely;
• the time since the previous groom and home maintenance;
• the dog’s age, mobility, confidence, and tolerance of handling;
• additional time needed for drying, coat preparation, or gradual breaks.

Provide accurate details when enquiring. A recent photograph can help explain coat length or matting, although the final plan may need to change after the coat and dog have been assessed in person. Before your appointment

Bring your dog on a secure lead or in a suitable carrier and allow enough time to arrive without rushing. A short toilet walk before travelling can help.
